Annabel Neylon
Senior Consultant
Annabel is a heritage horticulturalist and heritage landscape specialist with extensive experience in the identification, assessment and documentation of diverse heritage landscapes. She has a particular interest and skill in the translation of heritage landscapes into the planning scheme, and their adequate protection. Annabel has an advanced knowledge of statutory and strategic planning for heritage. She is a highly experienced project manager.
Prior to joining Context, Annabel was Director and Senior Consultant of a heritage consultancy based in Warrnambool. In this role she brought her considerable skills to bear in the provision of heritage advisory services for six rural municipalities, the preparation of heritage guidelines and reports for Local and State government organisations, and as project manager and principal consultant for a range of major projects. For many years Annabel worked as a freelance consultant. Her services included provision of horticultural heritage advice, and historic research, assessment and documentation of the cultural heritage values of buildings, gardens, monuments and landscapes. Annabel is passionate about horticultural heritage and cultural landscapes. She has undertaken a variety of projects relating to landscape for clients including Heritage Victoria and Aboriginal Affairs Victoria, and has previously worked as heritage (landscapes) advisor for Shires of Moyne, Southern Grampians, Glenelg, Corangamite and the City of Warrnambool, and has over 12 years experience in the field.
