Lake Burley Griffin CMP wins!
The Godden Mackay Logan team – with a coterie of great sub-consultants – won the prize for the best CMP at the 2010 National Trust Of Australia (NSW) Energy Australia Heritage Awards. Our client was the national Capital Authority.
The citation says it all:
… an exemplary response to the problem of identifying and managing the complex values of Lake Burley Griffin the centrepiece of Walter Burley Griffin’s competition-winning design for Australia’s new national capital. It organises the wealth of information into categories that will be readily understood by users and provides a detailed list of policies, actions and timings to guide site managers. In the judges’ opinion, the skill with which all of the site’s aspects have been assessed and presented demonstrates a high level of professional excellence.
Context’s role was assessing the aesthetic and social significance of the Lake, engaging a range of associated communities through surveys and focus groups, and drawing on the research and analysis of other team members.
