New on our web site are two much requested resources: What is social value? and an article on dialogue groups.
What is social value? A discussion paper
What is social value? is still regarded as an important guide to assessing the social significance of places. First published in 1993 by the Australian Heritage Commission, preparation of this paper was supported by the National Trust (Victoria). This paper has long been out of print, but you can download a scanned copy of the original from Context’s web site. Click here to go to the download page
Using Dialogue Groups: a great technique to get people talking
Dialogue groups are a great way to get people talking about a topic – at the dinner table, at work or anywhere else – and getting feedback. Context has recently applied this technique on two projects: with the City of Hume in the first stage of developing their Green Wedge Management Plan in 2007, and with the City of Knox in the development of the Knox 2008/2018 Sustainable Environment Strategy in 2008. A short paper on the use of dialogue groups presented at the 2008 IAP2 Symposium is now on the Context web site. Click here to go to the download page
